Description:
01 / GRAVEL INTENT
Why the rim interface changes the answer
R4.G is not a road wheel with a large tire installed. Its 28 mm internal rim width and hookless bead are deliberately selected for a bigger gravel tire, altering the tire support and pressure rules. Riders comparing gravel wheels should begin with tire compatibility and riding conditions before comparing small differences in stated wheel weight.
03 / RACE DEVELOPMENT
The details behind race-day speed.
The following systems are part of the Race wheel engineering described by Scope. Product-specific hardware, fit and limits are detailed in the technical reference below.
RACE RIM AERODYNAMICS
Scope uses aerodynamic profiles derived from Artech development but without the Artech Aeroscales outer surface.
SAPIM CX-RAY SPOKES
The Race system uses conventional steel aero spokes rather than the flagship Artech carbon spokes.
HUB LABYRINTH
Mechanical labyrinth sealing is designed to help shield the hub against dirt and improve long-term durability.
THE SCOPE RANGE / THREE DISTINCT APPROACHES
Find your place in the Scope family.
Sport, Race and Artech share Scope's focus on carbon wheel performance. The difference is in the construction, technology and application; always compare the exact models and compatibility before choosing.

Scope wheelset / Compatibility answers
Frequently asked questions about Scope R4.G
Can the R4.G be used with a normal tube-type road tire?
Do not assume so. R4.G is hookless. Use the compatible hookless-approved tire system specified by tire and wheel manufacturers, and respect Scope’s 4.0 bar / 58 psi rim pressure ceiling.
What is included in the Scope R4.G listing?
Complete front-and-rear wheelset. Tires, cassettes, rotors and accessories are included only if specifically listed in the Scope package details.
What does the Scope R4.G weigh?
Scope publishes 1,439 g as its wheel weight. It is not a shipping-package weight, and actual manufactured weights can vary.
Which tire should I use with the Scope R4.G?
Scope identifies a 28 mm internal rim and 40 mm optimum tire width. The tire manufacturer must approve the tire on this particular rim width and bead system, and the frame must provide adequate clearance.
Will it fit my bike?
Check the axle standard, brake interface, tire clearance, and any rear cassette/freehub compatibility. A wheel-model name is not enough to establish drivetrain compatibility.
Can Brimstone help confirm compatibility?
Yes. Brimstone Bicycles can help you check rim/tire approval, axle type and—when applicable—the correct freehub body before you order.
Can I exceed 58 psi if the tire says it is safe?
No. Scope publishes a 4.0 bar / 58 psi rim maximum for this hookless model. Follow the lower limit of the wheel and tire and do not assume the maximum is a recommended riding pressure.
What’s supplied / Warranty guidance
The wheel and the support behind it.
Tubeless valve(s) and tubeless tape (pre-installed), per Scope product page.
Scope lists a limited three-year manufacturer warranty on Race and Sport wheels purchased from Scope or an official Scope dealer. It applies to the original purchaser, subject to product registration within 30 working days and Scope’s published coverage and exclusions. Crash replacement is a separate manufacturer program; promotional trial and free-shipping terms are not promised by Brimstone.
