2026 Bianchi Oltre Race 105 12-Speed Road Bike

The Bianchi Oltre Race 105 brings the aerodynamic attitude of the Oltre family to a more accessible race-ready platform. Inspired by Bianchi's top-level Oltre RC, the Oltre Race uses a dedicated aero carbon frame and full-carbon fork, integrated hydraulic hose routing and aggressive road geometry to create a bike built for riders who want speed without immediately stepping into an electronic drivetrain or premium carbon wheel package.

This build pairs the Oltre Race chassis with Shimano 105 R7100 mechanical 2x12 shifting, 105 hydraulic disc brakes, a compact 50/34T crankset and wide-range 11-34T cassette. Finished in Bianchi's unmistakable ZK – CK16 / Metallic Celeste, it delivers the look and feel of a true Italian aero road bike with straightforward, serviceable components.

Accessible aero performance, without diluting the Oltre identity

The Oltre Race is not simply a conventional endurance frame wearing aero tube shapes. Bianchi designed it as the accessible entry into the Oltre racing family, with a low frontal profile, aero-oriented carbon construction and a riding position intended for riders who actively prioritize speed. It borrows the design philosophy of the professional-level Oltre RC while adapting the specification and construction to make the platform attainable to a wider range of cyclists.

The result is a bike that works especially well for fast group rides, club racing, criteriums, rolling road courses and riders moving into their first serious carbon race bike. It retains practical touches such as a conventional two-piece cockpit and mechanical shifting while keeping the frame clean through internal hydraulic routing.

Oltre Race Aero Carbon FrameFull-carbon race chassis with aero shaping, flat-mount disc brakes, 12x142 mm rear thru axle and integrated seat clamp.
Shimano 105 2x12Mechanical R7100 shifting delivers precise, durable performance with easy serviceability and modern 12-speed gearing.
Hydraulic Disc BrakesShimano R7170 hydraulic calipers with 160 mm Center Lock rotors provide confident stopping power in changing conditions.
CK16 / Metallic CelesteBianchi's signature Celeste is presented here with a metallic full-gloss finish that immediately identifies the bike as a Bianchi.

Aero carbon chassis

The Oltre Race frame is built from carbon and shaped specifically for aerodynamic road performance. The head tube, fork, down tube and seat-area profiles work together to reduce exposed frontal area while preserving the stiffness required for sprinting and high-speed cornering. A BB-PressFit 86.5 x 41 bottom-bracket shell creates a broad platform around the crank area, and the rear triangle uses a 12x142 mm thru axle for predictable disc-brake alignment and lateral rigidity.

The matching full-carbon aero fork uses a 12x100 mm thru axle and flat-mount brake interface. ACROS and FSA headset components support the internal hose-routing architecture, keeping the front end visually clean while preserving the adjustability of a separate stem and handlebar.

Shimano 105 mechanical 12-speed

Shimano 105 R7100 brings much of the gearing architecture of Shimano's higher-level road groups to a mechanical platform. The Oltre Race uses ST-R7120 shift/brake levers, an FD-R7100 front derailleur and RD-R7100 rear derailleur for a dependable 24-speed drivetrain that can be serviced by virtually any well-equipped road-bike shop.

The 50/34T crankset and 11-34T cassette provide a true 1:1 lowest gear, making the bike much more versatile in hilly terrain than an old-school aero race bike with aggressive gearing. It still has ample top-end for fast pacelines and racing, but the range makes long climbs and steep grades much more manageable.

Hydraulic braking where it matters

Although shifting is mechanical, braking is fully hydraulic. Shimano BR-R7170 calipers and RT70 160 mm Center Lock rotors front and rear provide consistent power and modulation in dry or wet conditions. For riders transitioning from rim-brake or cable-disc road bikes, this is one of the most meaningful performance upgrades in the complete package.

Velomann V30R wheels and Vittoria Rubino tires

The U.S.-spec build is equipped with Velomann V30R alloy wheels. They use a 30 mm profile, 23 mm internal channel, 2:1 spoke pattern and tubeless-ready construction, with a published wheelset weight of approximately 1,790 g. They are durable enough for training and everyday riding while leaving a clear future upgrade path to deeper carbon wheels if the rider wants to push the Oltre Race further toward pure aero-race performance.

Vittoria Rubino G2.0 700x28 tires provide a dependable combination of grip, durability and rolling efficiency. The 28 mm width is well suited to modern road pressures and gives the Oltre Race more composure on imperfect pavement than traditional narrow race tires.

Size-specific cockpit and fit

Bianchi uses a Velomann Aero Compact alloy handlebar with 74 mm reach and 116 mm drop, paired with a -7° Velomann alloy stem. Stem length and crank length change with frame size, helping maintain the intended fit and handling across the range rather than forcing every rider into the same contact-point dimensions.

The Velomann Full Carbon Aeroshape seatpost uses an adjustable, reversible alloy head with approximately ±35 mm of fore-aft adjustment, giving fitters useful flexibility in saddle position. The Velomann Mitora 139.1 saddle uses an open-flow design, steel rails and carbon-reinforced nylon shell.

Who is the Oltre Race 105 for?

  • Riders buying their first serious full-carbon aero road bike
  • Fast group-ride and club riders who want race geometry and hydraulic braking
  • Cyclists who prefer the simplicity and serviceability of mechanical Shimano shifting
  • Racers who want a strong carbon chassis now and may upgrade to carbon wheels later
  • Bianchi enthusiasts who want the Oltre silhouette and iconic Celeste finish at a more accessible price
