Our Mission

Built for riders. Rooted in Canal Fulton.

Brimstone Bicycles is a local veteran owned and operated bike shop in Canal Fulton, Ohio — built and run by real riders and mechanics who care about doing the job right. For more than 11 years, we’ve been proud to serve our neighbors with honest recommendations, quality repairs, and a shop experience that feels personal — not corporate.

Our mission is simple: keep people riding. Whether you’re commuting, hitting the Towpath, chasing miles on the road, exploring gravel, or just getting back on two wheels, we want you to feel supported, welcomed, and confident in your bike.

We believe a bike shop should be more than a place to buy parts. It should be a place where the community connects — and where cycling becomes easier, safer, and more accessible for everyone.

Community First

A bike shop that builds more than bikes

We’ve always believed that being “local” means showing up — not just for customers, but for the community around us.

  • Helping construct the bike park behind the shop, creating a space where kids, families, and riders can learn skills, build confidence, and enjoy cycling together.
  • Running a bike donation program that puts refurbished bikes into the hands of those who truly need them, including veterans and individuals experiencing homelessness.

We also believe in supporting the people who support our community every day. Brimstone proudly offers ongoing discounts to those who serve others — including veterans, first responders, teachers, healthcare workers, and community volunteers.

When we can help someone ride — whether through a repair, a donation, or a simple act of support — we’re doing something bigger than a transaction. We’re strengthening the community, one bike at a time.

Meet the Team

Real people. Real bikes. Real stories.

At the end of the day, a bike shop is only as good as the people in it. At Brimstone Bicycles, you’re not dealing with a corporate chain or a rotating staff — you’re working with a small, dedicated team who take pride in their craft and care deeply about this community.

We’re owners, mechanics, riders, and neighbors. When you bring your bike into Brimstone, you’re trusting real people with real experience — and we take that seriously.

You’ll see these faces in the shop — and probably out riding, too.

Eric

Eric has co-owned Brimstone Bicycles for over 11 years and brings the perspective of both a lifelong cyclist and an ultra-endurance athlete. Having completed three full Ironman events and logged more than 3,100 miles in long-distance trail racing, he understands the importance of reliable bikes and quality gear.

A U.S. Army veteran and longtime Canal Fulton resident, Eric also served two terms on city council. Outside the shop, Eric and his amazing wife Desiree are outdoor and nature enthusiasts enjoying cycling, hiking, swimming and spending time with their children.

In recent years, Eric has especially enjoyed running the shop alongside his oldest son, Jake. Together, they take pride in honest service, strong craftsmanship, and treating every customer the way they’d want their own family treated.

Yuriy

Owner

Yuriy is a passionate cyclist and co-owner of Brimstone Bicycles, with a deep love for Italian bike brands — especially Bianchi. He owns multiple Bianchis across road, gravel, and fixed-gear setups, and his riding has taken him on countless tours across Europe, including multiple crossings of the Alps.

Cycling is a lifestyle he proudly shares with his remarkable wife, Isabella, and together they’ve completed cycling tours across many European countries — including a bikepacking honeymoon across northern Italy. Through the Hudson Velo Cycling Club, Yuriy is also an active participant in VeloSano, earning Big Wheeler status through his commitment to riding and fundraising for cancer research.

A husband and father, Yuriy enjoys helping people get into cycling of all types and loves sharing — and listening to — great riding stories. At the shop, he’s the force behind Brimstone’s web presence and a go-to resource for road, gravel, and component questions.

Jake

Owner / Mechanic

Jake grew up in Brimstone Bicycles, spending time in the shop since he was 10 years old and learning the craft firsthand. Now an owner and full-time mechanic, he represents the next generation of the shop — carrying forward the values Brimstone was built on while helping shape where it’s headed.

Heading into his third year full time, Jake is deeply involved in day-to-day operations and takes pride in quality workmanship and honest communication. He enjoys meeting new people and learning something new every day.

Outside the shop, Jake loves trail cruising and playing ice hockey, and his mindset is simple: treat every bike — and every customer — with care and respect.

Master Mechanic

Jared

Mechanic

Jared is one of the mechanics who takes on the jobs others shy away from. While he’s one of the younger members of the team, his experience and technical ability far exceed his years — and there’s very little he can’t fix or figure out.

Known in the shop for handling the most complex and challenging repairs, Jared approaches every bike with patience, precision, and pride in doing it right. He rides when he can (and wishes he had more time to), and he has a real appreciation for American-made bikes and products — valuing craftsmanship and reliability.

If a bike needs serious attention, Jared is often the one trusted to get it done — and get it done right.
