Our mission

A bike shop should mean something.

Brimstone started with a simple idea: people deserve a bicycle shop that treats their riding goals seriously, whether it's their first bike or a dream build.

We're riders, mechanics, owners and neighbors. We believe that good advice is honest, that a repair should be done with care, and that buying a bike should feel like the beginning of a relationship—not the end of a transaction.

That same thinking guides the online store. The names you'll meet below aren't marketing personas. They're the people behind the questions, builds, repairs and orders.

Eric

For Eric, the long road began with BMX racing at Stow in the early 1980s. That grew into a lifetime of working on bicycles, three full Ironman finishes and countless hours of endurance training. A U.S. Army veteran and former two-term Canal Fulton city council member, he brings the same commitment to Brimstone's community and customers. Building the business alongside his son Jake is a point of pride—and so is helping riders find equipment they can depend on when the miles get serious.

Yuriy

Yuriy brings the perspective of a rider who's spent years exploring road and gravel—from long European tours and multiple crossings of the Alps to a bikepacking honeymoon in northern Italy. A devoted Bianchi enthusiast, he rides the brand across road, gravel and fixed-gear disciplines and loves getting into the details of frames, wheelsets and components. At Brimstone, he helps riders make confident premium-bike decisions while developing the shop's online experience. He's also active with Hudson Velo Cycling Club and VeloSano fundraising.

Jake

Jake grew up with Brimstone as a second home, learning from the workbench long before becoming an owner and full-time mechanic. He helps keep the day-to-day shop moving and enjoys working directly with customers—whether that's solving a service question or helping someone feel more confident on their bike. Outside the workshop, Jake gravitates toward relaxed trail rides and spends plenty of time on the ice playing hockey. He brings that easygoing, practical attitude to the way he looks after riders.

Dakota

Gravel racing is a major part of Dakota's life. As an experienced gravel rider, he knows firsthand what rough surfaces, race pace and long miles demand from a bike—and he brings that perspective to every precision build. Dakota is Brimstone's master mechanic, responsible for working on the shop's highest-end bicycles and the details that make premium machines perform as intended. He also leads the building, preparation, packing and shipping of online orders handled through the workshop, applying the same standards whether a bike is picked up locally or shipped across the country.

Jared

Jared brings a thoughtful, practical approach to the service work that keeps bikes dependable. From tune-ups and adjustments to diagnosing an annoying noise or resolving a shifting problem, he values careful workmanship and sensible fixes that last. He takes pride in helping riders understand what their bikes need—without overcomplicating the answer. Jared has a particular appreciation for American-made bikes, tools and components, and he likes to get out for a ride whenever he can find a little time away from the stand.

The mechanic behind your premium build.

There's a real workshop behind Brimstone's online storefront. Dakota brings his gravel-racing perspective to our most demanding bicycle builds. He leads the build, preparation and shipping of online orders fulfilled through our workshop. That attention to detail matters just as much when the rider lives hundreds of miles away.

For bikes prepared at our shop, the same team that works with local riders handles assembly and careful packaging before shipment. We're proud to put names and faces behind that work.
