Description:
01 / ROAD INTENT
A current wheel option for a classic interface
Many excellent road bicycles use rim brakes, and a wheel upgrade should not require replacing the whole bike. Scope’s S4 Rim Brake is deliberately different from S4 Disc: it has a rim-brake track and traditional quick-release mounting. Buyers should check brake-pad compatibility, tire clearance and the manufacturer’s rider-weight guidance before choosing it.
03 / SPORT ESSENTIALS
Technology you can rely on.
The following systems are part of the Sport wheel engineering described by Scope. Product-specific hardware, fit and limits are detailed in the technical reference below.
SPORT 3-PAWL HUB
The established Sport hub mechanism differs from the Diamond Ratchet used in the newer R-Series models.
SAPIM CX-LEADER
Scope uses reliable steel aero spokes for a practical carbon-wheel construction.
LOCAL REINFORCEMENT
Extra carbon is placed at selected high-stress areas of the rim rather than increasing material throughout the whole structure.
THE SCOPE RANGE / THREE DISTINCT APPROACHES
Find your place in the Scope family.
Sport, Race and Artech share Scope's focus on carbon wheel performance. The difference is in the construction, technology and application; always compare the exact models and compatibility before choosing.
SPORT / THIS MODEL
Proven carbon performanceStraightforward upgrade choice, Sport-series hubs and accessible ride-specific technology.
RACE
Race-built speedArtech-derived rim profiles and race-oriented hub and spoke systems; details vary by model.
ARTECH
Flagship materialsAdvanced Artech construction, including its distinctive premium hub, spoke and aero technologies as specified by model.
Which Scope wheel belongs on your bike?
Choose S4 Rim Brake only when your bike uses rim-caliper brakes and standard quick releases. Scope specifies a 95 kg rider limit for this version. For a disc-brake bike, choose the separate S4 Disc model.

Frequently asked questions about Scope S4 Rim Brake
What is the weight limit for Scope S4 Rim Brake?
Scope publishes a 95 kg maximum rider weight for the S4 rim-brake configuration. The disc-brake configuration has different manufacturer guidance.
What is included in the Scope S4 Rim Brake listing?
Complete rim-brake front-and-rear wheelset. Tires, cassettes, rotors and accessories are included only if specifically listed in the Scope package details.
What does the Scope S4 Rim Brake weigh?
Scope publishes 1,555 g as its wheel weight. It is not a shipping-package weight, and actual manufactured weights can vary.
Which tire should I use with the Scope S4 Rim Brake?
Scope identifies a 19 mm internal rim and 25 mm optimum tire width. The tire manufacturer must approve the tire on this particular rim width and bead system, and the frame must provide adequate clearance.
Will it fit my bike?
Check the axle standard, brake interface, tire clearance, and any rear cassette/freehub compatibility. A wheel-model name is not enough to establish drivetrain compatibility.
Can Brimstone help confirm compatibility?
Yes. Brimstone Bicycles can help you check rim/tire approval, axle type and—when applicable—the correct freehub body before you order.
Are the S4 Rim Brake and Disc Brake wheels interchangeable?
No. The Rim Brake version uses a braking track and quick releases, while S4 Disc uses Centerlock and thru axles. Scope also publishes different rider-weight guidance for them.
What’s supplied / Warranty guidance
The wheel and the support behind it.
Tubeless valves/tape, and quick-release skewers and carbon brake pads for the rim-brake configuration (per Scope page).
Scope lists a limited three-year manufacturer warranty on Race and Sport wheels purchased from Scope or an official Scope dealer. It applies to the original purchaser, subject to product registration within 30 working days and Scope’s published coverage and exclusions.
