Scope R4.A Carbon Wheelset / Race development / WHEELSET

Wider tires. The same race mentality.

R4.A combines a 45 mm carbon rim, 25 mm hooked internal channel and Scope’s optimum 30 mm tire width. The manufacturer lists a 1,398 g wheelset weight for this race-oriented all-road package.

01 / ALL-ROAD INTENT

For fast roads with imperfect surfaces

When smooth roads, rough pavement and compact gravel connectors belong to the same route, a 30 mm tire-oriented wheel can make more sense than a traditional road-specific setup. R4.A uses a wider 33.7 mm external profile to support that purpose while retaining aerodynamic depth and Race-series wheel construction.

02 / PERFORMANCE ARCHITECTURE

Engineering for the intended ride.

The familiar R-Series hubs, mechanical labyrinth sealing and Sapim CX-Ray spokes bring the model into Scope’s Race family. The rim is hooked, unlike the hookless gravel-specific R4.G. That is an important consideration for riders comparing all-road and gravel tire systems.

THE SCOPE RANGE / THREE DISTINCT APPROACHES

Find your place in the Scope family.

Sport, Race and Artech share Scope's focus on carbon wheel performance. The difference is in the construction, technology and application; always compare the exact models and compatibility before choosing.

Choosing this model

Which Scope wheel belongs on your bike?

Choose R4.A if your priority is brisk paved and smooth-gravel riding with a wider tire. Choose road R4 for a 28 mm tire platform or R4.G for the 28 mm internal hookless rim designed around 40 mm gravel tires.

Scope wheelset / Compatibility answers

Frequently asked questions about Scope R4.A

Is R4.A a gravel wheel?

Scope places R4.A in All-Road. It uses a hooked 25 mm inner rim optimized for 30 mm tires; R4.G is the dedicated Gravel model with a 28 mm hookless rim optimized for 40 mm tires.

What is included in the Scope R4.A listing?

Complete front-and-rear wheelset. Tires, cassettes, rotors and accessories are included only if specifically listed in the Scope package details.

What does the Scope R4.A weigh?

Scope publishes 1,398 g as its wheel weight. It is not a shipping-package weight, and actual manufactured weights can vary.

Which tire should I use with the Scope R4.A?

Scope identifies a 25 mm internal rim and 30 mm optimum tire width. The tire manufacturer must approve the tire on this particular rim width and bead system, and the frame must provide adequate clearance.

Will it fit my bike?

Check the axle standard, brake interface, tire clearance, and any rear cassette/freehub compatibility. A wheel-model name is not enough to establish drivetrain compatibility.

Can Brimstone help confirm compatibility?

Yes. Brimstone Bicycles can help you check rim/tire approval, axle type and—when applicable—the correct freehub body before you order.

What’s supplied / Warranty guidance

The wheel and the support behind it.

Tubeless valve(s) and tubeless tape (pre-installed), per Scope product page.

Scope lists a limited three-year manufacturer warranty on Race and Sport wheels purchased from Scope or an official Scope dealer. It applies to the original purchaser, subject to product registration within 30 working days and Scope’s published coverage and exclusions. Crash replacement is a separate manufacturer program; promotional trial and free-shipping terms are not promised by Brimstone.

Use the Scope warranty information and Scope crash replacement information for current terms.
