SCOPE / ARTECH / THE FLAGSHIP PLATFORM / ROAD

Scope Artech 2 Carbon Wheelset / Engineering edition / WHEELSET

The mountain decides. Weight matters.

The Artech 2 makes a persuasive case for a shallow carbon road wheel when gradients dominate the route. Scope publishes a remarkable 965 g weight for the 22 mm wheelset while retaining the engineering architecture of its flagship Artech collection.

01 / ROAD INTENT

When the route points upward

Long climbs repeatedly ask a rider to accelerate out of turns, vary cadence and respond to changes of gradient. The 22 mm Artech 2 prioritizes low rotating mass and a controlled, responsive road feel over maximum rim depth. This is the natural choice for a rider whose calendar includes mountainous gran fondos, climbing races and days built around accumulated elevation.

02 / PERFORMANCE ARCHITECTURE

Engineering for the intended ride.

The shallow depth is only the visible part of the design. Scope combines Carbonlite Aerospokes, distinctive topology-optimized Scalmalloy hubs and a titanium Diamond Ratchet SL system to pursue a very low complete-wheel weight. Its 23 mm internal hooked rim is designed around 28 mm road tires, rather than forcing a narrow, old-fashioned climbing-tire setup.

Choosing this model

Which Scope wheel belongs on your bike?

Choose Artech 2 instead of Artech 4 when minimizing wheel weight on steep routes is your primary criterion. If your riding alternates between long climbs, rolling roads and higher-speed exposed sections, the deeper Artech 4 is the more versatile question to investigate.

Scope wheelset / Compatibility answers

Frequently asked questions about Scope Artech 2

Is Artech 2 better suited to climbing than Artech 4?

Artech 2 is the shallower and lighter climbing-focused option. Artech 4 adds rim depth for a broader aerodynamic all-round objective. Which is best depends on terrain, speed and priorities; Scope does not publish a universal time-saving comparison.

What is included in the Scope Artech 2 listing?

Complete front-and-rear wheelset. Tires, cassettes, rotors and accessories are included only if specifically listed in the Scope package details.

What does the Scope Artech 2 weigh?

Scope publishes 965 g as its wheel weight. It is not a shipping-package weight, and actual manufactured weights can vary.

Which tire should I use with the Scope Artech 2?

Scope identifies a 23 mm internal rim and 28 mm optimum tire width. The tire manufacturer must approve the tire on this particular rim width and bead system, and the frame must provide adequate clearance.

Will it fit my bike?

Check the axle standard, brake interface, tire clearance, and any rear cassette/freehub compatibility. A wheel-model name is not enough to establish drivetrain compatibility.

Can Brimstone help confirm compatibility?

Yes. Brimstone Bicycles can help you check rim/tire approval, axle type and—when applicable—the correct freehub body before you order.

What is the CeramicSpeed upgrade?

The manufacturer offers a CeramicSpeed bearing configuration on eligible Artech variants. It is a bearing option, not a published 80 g weight reduction; compare the selected manufacturer SKUs.

What’s supplied / Warranty guidance

The wheel and the support behind it.

Tubeless valve(s) and tape (pre-installed); Aerospoke service key; Artech accessory kit and padded wheel bag(s), as specified for this model by Scope.

Scope lists a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty on Artech wheels purchased from Scope or an official Scope dealer. It applies to the original purchaser, subject to product registration within 30 working days and Scope’s published coverage and exclusions. Crash replacement is a separate manufacturer program; promotional trial and free-shipping terms are not promised by Brimstone.

Use the Scope warranty information and Scope crash replacement information for current terms.
