The Princeton CarbonWorks Peak 4550 Evolution is an ultra-light carbon road wheelset designed for climbing performance, responsive acceleration, and confident handling. Borrowing technology from the Wake 6560 Evolution and Alta 3532, the Peak 4550 Evolution combines a wider 21mm internal rim width, a 420g rim weight, and Princeton’s Radially Staggered Lacing to create a wheelset that is lightweight, aerodynamic, and exceptionally stable in crosswinds.
Built for riders who want the best climbing wheelset without sacrificing aerodynamic performance, the Peak 4550 Evolution excels on steep ascents, technical descents, and fast valley sections. With a hooked tubeless-ready rim and Princeton’s hole-less tire bed, it supports clincher, tubeless, or tube setups without tubeless tape or pressure limitations.

Peak 4550 Evolution FAQ
What type of riding is the Peak 4550 Evolution best for?
The Peak 4550 Evolution is designed primarily as a lightweight climbing wheelset, while remaining fast and stable for all-around road riding and racing.
Is the rim hooked or hookless?
Princeton CarbonWorks uses a hooked rim design for safety, tire compatibility, and the ability to run higher tire pressures without restrictions.
Do I need tubeless tape?
No. The Peak 4550 Evolution uses Princeton’s non-drilled hole-less tire bed, eliminating the need for tubeless tape.
What spokes are used?
The wheelset uses Sapim CX-Ray spokes with Sapim SecureLock alloy nipples.
